Beau Soir for Valentines

Join the flute and harp duo, Beau Soir, for an afternoon chamber concert on Saturday, February 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bull Run Regional Library in Manassas. The program, entitled Beau Soir for Valentines, will feature traditional favorite works for lovers and is open to adults and families with children ages 3 and older. Founded in 2007 by flutist Lauren Panfili and harpist Michelle Myers Lundy, Beau Soir is dedicated to the performance of new and standard repertoire spanning all eras of classical music. Michelle Myers Lundy is a professional harpist who performs throughout the Washington, DC area. She has performed at the Capitol, Supreme Court, National Archives, the Lyceum Museum, Strathmore Mansion and Hall, Alden Theatre and several of the Smithsonian Museums. Ms. Lundy is currently principal harpist with the McLean Orchestra and a substitute harpist with the National Philharmonic Orchestra. Ms. Lundy began her musical studies in St. Louis on piano at the age of six. She spent five summers at National Music Camp in Interlochen, Michigan where she began her harp studies. She received her Bachelor in Music from Northwestern University in harp performance. While at Northwestern she was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. She continued her studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she received a Master in Music.

Lauren Panfili is a professional flutist and teacher in the Washington, DC area. She performs regularly at venues such as the Kennedy Center and the National Cathedral. She has had the opportunity to play with the National Philharmonic, the Alexandria Symphony, and the Master Chorale of Washington, the Choral Arts Society and the National Cathedral Choir. Ms. Panfili has performed throughout the country as a recitalist, and in 2005 gave a master class and recital in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. An avid piccolo player, she was a piccolo concerto soloist with the St. Olaf Orchestra. A native of Washington State, Ms. Panfili began her musical studies at the age of seven. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from Saint Olaf College in Minnesota, and a Master of Arts degree in flute performance from the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

This program is free but registration is required.
