About a week-and-a-half ago Emily Lodge was running her 4th annual Score for the Poor Soccer camp. As you probably remember last Thursday it rained so the camp had to be canceled for the day. But that didn't stop Emily from making a difference. The outcome of the camp was great for Emily and the Sisters of the Poor because the camp raised about $700 dollars and had ten extra people to come to the camp! This year Emily's camp also did many more things than just playing soccer.

August 29, 2007, Woodbridge, VA. BristowEnews.com met with Melissa Hopkins, Communication Specialist for the Prince William Service Authority (PWC SA). According to Melissa, the PWC SA was created by a resolution by the Board of Supervisor County in Prince William County in January 1983. The organization came about as a result and a need in incorporating smaller sanitary district into a chartered organization. The Prince William County currently gets its water supply from three different water sources, namely:
- Lake Manassas
- The Potomac River
- Occoquan Reservoir

Some area residents, only those adjacent to power lines, received a large first class mailing from the State Corporation Commission outlining two joint applications proposed 500kV Transmission Lines to Dominion Virginia Powers existing substation located in Loudoun County. The document states: "This Virginia segment proposed in these two applications is the continuation of a proposed line that originates in Pennsylvania continues through West Virginia, and terminates in Virginia. As we discuss below, the Commission will weigh and determine any requirement to consider under Virginia law the regional need for the facilities proposed in Virginia.

2007 Summer Band Camp
Prince William County Summer Band Camp
Summer Band Camp Finishes on a High Note
Ninety Three students from Prince William County enjoyed the fruits of Summer Band Camp sponsored by Prince William County and Music and Arts. Thirteen Camp Directors provided experienced instruction in Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Contra Alto Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Bassoon, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Bar Saxophone, Trumpet, French horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba and Percussion instruments. Most of the Camp Directors are current Band Directors from area middle and high schools. Two college music majors, one private instructor and one member of the U.S. Navy Band were included in the mix.
