According to Lisa, golf tournaments are a great way to raise money for charity because of the number of things you can do within a tournament. Non-profit organizations and corporations who want to raise money for charity can fundraise in excess of $30,000 through a golf tournament because of the diversity of prizes within a tournament. Sponsors can advertise a Hole in One ,a contest on all the par 3 holes and give away prizes for anyone who gets their ball in the hole in one shot. Some other contests within tournaments are ~ Longest Drive, Beat the Pro, and Closest to the Pin. Usually the tournaments incorporate nice prizes such as $10,000 dollars, a Nike Driver, a trip to Las Vegas or three years worth of golf balls to attract people to their tournaments. Most charity tournaments are open to the public since they are trying to raise money for their non-profit organization.
