2007 Music Technology Camp

2007 Summer Music Technology Camp

Imagine Mozart at a computer keyboard. That's what participants at the 2007 Music Technology Camp did. They had an array of instruments and beats at their finger tips on their computers and could command any song or composition they wanted with the help of music software.

Shannon Gunn of Woodbridge Senior High School helped campers compose songs beginning with simple beats and within the week they created a twenty-four bar composition. BristowEnews.com was impressed with the progression of music in their Techno Concert held at the end of the week, in the afternoon session. Shannon is thinking about expanding the camp to two weeks to allow students the chance to create more complex compositions.

Two sessions were held with the morning being the most popular. Students came from various schools around Prince William County. The camp was open to rising 7th, 8th and 9th graders. The students attending this camp will be attending Stone Middle School, Garfield or Woodbridge High School and many of the students in this particular session were violinists.

For more information about next year's camp contact Shannon Gunn at: gunnsr@pwcs.edu.
