Inside this flag
Sorrows lurk
Memories of loved ones lost in battle
Those who died for their country
These sorrows fight to come out
Hope lives here
Hope for victory
Hope for unity
Hope for peace
Pride dwells in its colors
The joy of inclusion in the country
Carrying the flag
Honored to claim the heritage
Amazement and awe
Come to life as the flag billows.
Amazement for the sacrifices made
Awe of ownership
Inside this flag
are people's thoughts,
their words,
their actions for their country.
And the consequences...

Inside this Army Uniform
Hours of toiling work
Pain and suffering
Battles won and lost
Inside this army uniform
Pride and joy
The American flag waving true
Teamwork throughout
Inside this army uniform
Timeless trying
Memories of American pride
solemn thoughts of those who died
Inside this army uniform
separation from family
The joy of winning
Gunshots ringing everywhere
Inside this army uniform
Comforting protection
Rejection by pacifists
The Star Spangled Banner's tune
Inside this army uniform
Death and injury
Training and obedience
Years of overseas
Inside this army uniform
