National Life Chain 2007

National Life Chain Sunday, October 07, 2007

The LIFE CHAIN began in Yuba City, CA in 1987 with 2,000 participants as a peaceful way for pro-life activists to help end abortion. The Life Chain invites everyone who believes that human life is sacred to stand in public for one hour while holding signs and praying in order to give silent witness for all human life, especially the unborn. The Life Chain takes place on the first Sunday in October. Last year there were well over 1,200 Life chains through-out America and Canada. For more information see: http://www.lifechain.net

Holy Trinity Parishioners have been participating in the Life Chain for the past six years, since the establishment of their church. Parishioners first meet and pray the Rosary before standing along the walkways of Linton Hall Road and Route 29 in Gainesville, Virginia near the VA Gateway Shopping Center.

Babies with their mothers, young children, teenagers as well as the elderly, stand, kneel or sit along the route. Nobody talks. They hold their pro-life signs and simply pray for an end to abortion.

Some of the signs that parishioners held were:

Abortion Kills Children
Jesus Forgives and Heals
Adoption: The Loving Option
Lord, Forgive Us and Our Nation
Abortion Hurts Women
Pray To End Abortion
Life-The First Inalienable Right
God is Pro-Life
