Gainesville United Methodist Church hosted the Ecumenical Word and Worship Service for the Bristow Community on Sunday, October 7th at 7:00 pm. The theme of this year's worship service was: "Open our ears and loosen our tongues," Mark 7:31-37. The presiders of the worship service were: Reverend John Patterson, Gainesville United Methodist Church; Reverend Francis Peffley, Pastor, Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Deacon Jake Henry, Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Afterwards the parishioners of Gainesville United Methodist Church invited all the participants to a reception in their large church hall. Parish members enjoyed making new acquaintances and building new friendships. The reception was warm and graciously appreciated by all. This was one of the many ways that Christians can find unity and open their hearts to each other.
