Women's Apostolate to Youth, WAY
BristowEnews.com recently attended a new W.A.Y. chapter that is beginning to meet in Bristow, Virginia. "W.A.Y." stands for the "Women's Apostolate to Youth," and is a group of lay Catholic women from various walks of life who wish to grow spiritually in order to help promote the spiritual well being of children. W.A.Y. was formed about twenty years ago by director Robin Maas and today has various fruits of their work including the "Little Messengers Preschool Co-operative," "Angelus Academy," a preschool thru junior high private elementary school and the "Saint Michael the Archangel Hotline for Spiritually at Risk Youth." Gainesville, Virginia ~ Heritage Hunt was developed in 1998 by US Homes. There are currently 1667 homes and over 3,000 active residents in the community. Heritage Hunt is catered to 55 plus working and retired adults. It is a gated Community located off Route 29 in Gainesville, Virginia. It has a 24 by 7 security guards and access to the community is restricted to members and guest only. About 25% of the populations are still working full-time. The retirees come from various backgrounds from both the private and public sector of the industry. The retirement community has the Heritage Hunt Golf Country Club, a private golf course which was designed by Arthur Hill.

Adrianna Sgarlata, Miss Virginia 2006 will perform several Puccini arias as well as Gershwin's memorable "Summertime" at this year's Arts Alive! gala, Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce's annual celebration of the arts presented jointly with the Prince William Park Authority's Arts Council. Arts Alive! will be held at the Prince William Campus of George Mason University, located at 10900 University Blvd. in Manassas, Virginia on Friday, September 28th from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Manassas, VA ~ The Fall School Supply Drive organized by Denyse Carroll, K-12 Program Administrator for Micron Technology Virginia and Co-Chair of the Education Committee of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce was an unqualified success. The drive which lasted only three weeks, netted enough in cash and school supplies to fully load 100 backpacks.
