Manassas, VA ~ The Fall School Supply Drive organized by Denyse Carroll, K-12 Program Administrator for Micron Technology Virginia and Co-Chair of the Education Committee of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce was an unqualified success. The drive which lasted only three weeks, netted enough in cash and school supplies to fully load 100 backpacks.
The Greater Chamber would like to particularly thank the associates of Micron Technology Virginia and the Manassas Journal Messenger for their generous support. On Friday, August 24th, 50 backpacks full of supplies were delivered to Sharamaine Williams, Principal of Jennie Dean Elementary School in the City of Manassas. All the homeless students qualifying for the free lunch program and some of the students qualifying for the reduced lunch program will benefit from the donation.
