NBIA is an acronym that stands for Neurodegeneration with Brain Iron Accumulation. Brittany Leap, who is a twelve year old from Haymarket, and was diagnosed two years with NBIA will benefit from any research developments. Brittany’s mother, Sandy Leap is the event chair and you may contact Doina Heinz, 703-794-1539, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with product questions, etc. or by email at: doinaheinz@comcast.net
Brittany Leap has her own web page called Queen Bee World where you can learn more about Brittany and NBIA. See: www.queenbeeworld.com
BristowEnews.com met Brittany in October 2007 at the “Family Masquerade Ball,” which was an event organized by Brittany’s friends Josie and Ellie Corrado. Many local area businesses donated prizes, food, and supplies to help raise awareness about Brittany’s condition as well as others inflicted with NBIA.
