The 2008 Paw Wow is coming!!!

As we welcome the new year, LUCAS finds it’s time to begin preparations for our fun filled 2nd Annual Paw Wow. This annual fund raising event will be held at Dolphin Beach in Montclair, VA on April 19th from 10 – 2 and is expected to be bigger and better than last year. The Paw Wow will consist of a dog walk through Montclair, numerous pet friendly exhibitors, local rescue groups featuring adoptable pets, pet contests, raffle drawings and various animal demonstrations. The Paw Wow is a fundraiser to benefit low/no cost spay and neuter clinics and to build a safe sanctuary for homeless animals in transition to their forever homes.
Volunteers are greatly needed to help with organizing and activities the day of the event. If you have some time and can lend a hand for this great cause, please contact us or fill out a volunteer application. We also have exhibitor spaces and sponsorship opportunities available.
It’s bound to be a fun filled day, so mark your calendars and make a date with your pet for April 19th. Don’t forget to tell your friends and watch for further updates.
LUCAS Vision Statement
Eliminate pet overpopulation and end the senseless execution of thousands
of healthy, homeless companion animals
LUCAS Mission Statement
LUCAS (Let Us Consider Adopting Strays) is an all volunteer non-profit organization based in Prince William County, VA that endeavors to make a difference by:
§ Changing public opinion and policy through education on the benefits of sterilization
§ Promoting adoption of homeless companion animals
§ Raising funds to sponsor low or no cost spay/neuter clinics
§ Creating a NO KILL, Safe Sanctuary for adoptable, homeless and unwanted animals
~ Every animal’s life has value, and each cat or dog is a unique, irreplaceable individual with needs and feelings. The fact that most are healthy and seeking love when they are killed makes their deaths all the more pointless and distressing. Such is the seemingly never-ending tragedy and heartrending reality of the companion animal overpopulation crisis.~
