 Andrea Short

Manassas, VA— Prince William County Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce Membership & Events Coordinator, Andrea Short will staff the new Western Prince William office, President Deborah Jones announced at a recent Business After Hours networking event. Kris Johnson, Greater Chamber Membership & Sales Director, will divide her time between the Manassas and Gainesville locations.

Last week, the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce assumed the lease on a 1453 sq. ft. office in Gainesville, to be used as a second home for the Chamber. The new branch office is located at 7250 Heritage Village Plaza, Ste. 202, across the street from Heritage Hunt Golf & Country Club.  This branch location is specifically designated to serve the business community in Western Prince William County including Bristow,

Broad Run, Nokesville, Gainesville and Haymarket. The phone number of the branch office will remain the

same: 703-368-6600.

Plans are in motion for a May opening and a ribbon cutting will be announced for later that month. The Greater Chamber plans to hold some of its regular events at the Western Prince William branch office including periodic Text Box: Andrea ShortChamber 101 Mentoring sessions for new members and lunchtime Brown Bag Seminars. Offers have already come from two local restaurateurs to host networking events for our growing membership. The conference room in the branch office will also be available for use by members during the planned operating hours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Andrea Short, the newest member of the Greater Chamber’s staff, comes to the Chamber having spent more than five years at EuroBronze Tanning Salon of Manassas and Haymarket. Most recently, she commissioned sales for a high-end boutique in Tyson’s Corner.

Andrea is looking forward to using her background in customer service to make new members feel welcome as the Greater Chamber expands its membership. “There is so much new growth out in the Gainesville-Haymarket area,” says Andrea, “It’s thrilling to have this opportunity to help grow our membership.  I feel a bit like an Ambassador because there are so many businesses that have popped up just a few miles west along I- 66 who will now have the chance to be actively engaged in Chamber activities. They knew who we were, but we were just too far away. Now we are bringing the benefits of membership to their doorsteps. Many thanks to the Chamber staff for affording me this opportunity.”

The branch office is considered essential by the Board of Directors of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce due to the growth in the area in recent years. The county estimates that the population of the region has risen at a rate of at least 133 percent in the years since the 2000 census. More than one-quarter of current member businesses in the Prince William County–Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce are located in that area.

The Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce will continue to serve its members at the main office located at 8963 Center Street in Old Town Manassas. With more than 1,100 members, the Greater Chamber was listed as the fourth largest in the Washington area by the Washington Business Journal’s “Book of Lists 2007.”
