The annual “Queen Bee Golf Marathon” is set for September 22nd and will take place at the Piedmont Golf Club. Event sponsors, golfers, prizes, goodie bag items and sponsors for the golfers are needed. The “Queen Bee Golf Marathon” not only helps with raising awareness about NBIA or Neurodegeneration with Brain Iron Accumulation, but helps provide funding for research according to organizers Rich and Sandy Leap, parents of Brittany, who is diagnosed with NBIA. Businesses and individuals interested in helping can visit their website for more information about participating, www.queenbeeworld.com
The golfers need stamina to play 100 holes of golf and are sponsored the same way as walk-a-thons, by a flat amount or for each hole played. One dollar a hole would equal $100 for one hundred holes of golf. One of the goodie bag items needed is golf balls, golf balls and more golf balls because golfers are playing all day and may lose a few (dozen). Other goodie bag items needed are snacks, coupons for restaurants, tees, etc.
Sponsorship opportunities include the following:
ü Hole sponsors.
ü Breakfast sponsors.
ü Drink sponsors.
ü Lunch sponsors.
ü Prizes such as gift certificates or any golf goodies.
ü Golf shirts are needed for donation or for sale to the organizers at a reduced price so the Queen Bee logo can be stitched on them.
ü Golf sponsors. If you can’t play, you can sponsor a golfer $1 per hole or $100. Fifty cents would be $50 or you can sponsor a flat amount of $5, $10 etc.
