"Representatives of 12 non-profit organizations in Northern Virginia gathered recently at the Reston Community Center to be honored by the Giving Circle of HOPE, which awarded over $50,000 to the groups at its fourth annual grantee celebration. The Giving Circle of HOPE is a philanthropic service organization that helps needy people in Northern Virginia through volunteer service and annual grants. Since its founding in 2004, the Giving Circle of HOPE has made grants totaling over $200,000 and has contributed over 3000 volunteer hours. This year's grant recipients are Alzheimer's Family Day Center, BEACON, Brain Injury Services, Emerging Scholaras Program, Empowered Women International, FACETS, Herndon-Reston FISH, Jeanie Schmidt Free Clinic, Liberty's Promise, Shepherd's Center of Oakton-Vienna, Stroke Comeback Center, and Vecinos Unidos.
