A few weeks ago the world television premier of the Disney Channel original movie Minute Men aired. The plot of the movie began with Virgil Fox (Jason Dolley) who is a regular high school “Dork” along with Charlie Tuttle (Luke Benward) the super genius. Virgil is in his senior year of high school and is ready for something exciting to happen. That’s when Virgil Fox and Charlie discover how to travel back in time. However, in order to travel back in time they need to build a time machine.
That’s where Zeke Thompson (Nicholas Braun) comes in. Zeke (also a student at Summerton High) is handy with the tools and helps Virgil and Charlie build the time machine. They soon figure out how to use the time machine so the students at Summerton High can have a “do-over”. All is going well for the “Minute Men” until a black hole appears on the football field of their high school and Virgil is having trouble with his friend Stephanie. Virgil wants to be “more-than-friends” with Stephanie except for one problem- her boyfriend Derek.
Now Stephanie must choose between the guy who really cares about her or the big guy at campus. And, as for the Minute Men, they have to save the world in a matter of time. I thought that the movie, Minute Men deserves 3 out of 5 stars. The overall movie was “okay” movie to watch except for the cheesy special affects. My favorite part however, was when they used the vegetable steamer to stop the vortex and save the world.
