The Nokesville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department announces that it is holding a recruitment drive and open house on Saturday, February 23, 2008 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Educational displays will be set up at Bristow Station 25 during this time for fire and EMS demonstrations, as well as information about joining the department as a Firefighter, EMT, Business or Auxiliary Member.
Founded in 1946, the Nokesville Volunteer Fire Department has two stations primarily serving the communities of Nokesville and Bristow, and assists other surrounding fire and rescue departments in Prince William County.
Deputy Chief Andrew Frizzle said, “This is a great opportunity for the public to come out to our newest station, see our apparatus and equipment, educate themselves about fire safety, and learn what the requirements of membership in the department are. We are always looking for firefighters and EMT’s, as well as business and auxiliary members. It takes an incredible amount of support to provide our services to the area, and we really need good people that want to give back to their community and do things that really make a difference in people’s lives. We have great camaraderie in the department, and people that join quickly find out they are a part of something much bigger than themselves. There is no experience required, and we pay for all training and gear.”
