March for Life
Like the gestation of the unborn child in the womb, the March for Life has continued to grow since its inception in 1974 based upon the life principals found in the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all human beings are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among which is the right to life.”
Many area residents participated in the March for Life which swelled to over 200,000 people of all ages and races, including many families who want to speak up for those un-born babies who are deprived of right to life. The theme for this year’s march for life was “Build Unity on the Life Principles throughout America. No Exception! No Compromise!" Before the march began, all of the marchers gathered at the Mall for a rally. For more information about the March for Life see: www.marchforlife.org
Marchers heard from Senators and Representatives about what they will do to protect human life and make abortion illegal. March participants, including many women who regretted having abortions, marched all the way to Capitol and rallied near the Supreme Court. Many people visited and spoke to Congressional representatives so that the preborn babies who cannot speak for themselves would be heard.
