BristowEnews.com met with Kevin Schlagel owner of the “Daily Grind,” which is a coffee house and café located at Heritage Hunt Village Plaza, a new shopping and office center located across from the Heritage Hunt retirement community. The Daily Grind has been open since August of 2006 but has not received the projected traffic volume even with the newly opened Heathcote Boulevard in August of 2007. The Heathcote Boulevard opening connects Route 29 to Haymarket via Catharpin Road and avoids crossing the railroad tracks that run thru Gainesville has brought some increased traffic but now the volume is flat for many business owners.
In addition to the friendly atmosphere and the Daily Grind’s menu of baked goods, light sandwiches, soups and salads, they offer interactive music for kids twice a month! In February they will host “Mr. Don” on Monday, February 4th at 1:00 p.m. and Friday, February 15th at 10:30 a.m. This is a great opportunity for moms to get out of the house and socialize with their friends while their children enjoy some free entertainment. Call the Daily Grind at 703-753-0807 for more information.
