Lieutenant Governor Bolling is the Chairman of the Infrastructure in Virginia Working Group of the Attorney General’s Government and Regulatory Reform Task Force. The Working Group will review governmental rules and regulations regarding education and transportation construction infrastructure in order to increase efficiencies, reduce bureaucracy and mitigate adverse impacts on Virginia businesses and individuals. This is the initial meeting of the Working Group and will focus on reviewing regulations related to transportation infrastructure.

Richmond, July 24, 2008 - “Tonight, Christopher Scott Emmett was executed by the Commonwealth of Virginia for the murder of John Fenton Langley. On the night of April 26, 2001 Emmett murdered his co-worker as he lay sleeping in his hotel room in Danville, taking John Fenton Langley’s life in order to steal his wallet to buy crack cocaine. It was a senseless crime that took a father away from his children. Mr. Langley’s friends and family will forever mourn his loss.”

Twenty-five people came to the “Teaching Garden” located at 9535 Linton Hall Road, in Bristow at the Benedictine Monastery on Saturday, July 12th for the fourth free lecture program held by the Virginia Cooperative Extension Environment and Natural Resources. The lecture focused on drought tolerant plants, herbs, as well as plants which attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Speakers focused on their particular subject and then attendees could see examples in the “Teaching Garden.”

Deborah Wood, Director of BEACON, http://www.beaconliteracy.org/about-us, a literacy program for adults in Prince William County, introduced Bonnie who is the Disaster Services Coordinator for the Voluntary Action Center, http://www.volunteerprincewilliam.org/introduction.html. Deborah organized the free Disaster Preparedness Workshop on July 16th, especially for adults learning English, so they could be prepared in the event of natural and manmade disasters. Bonnie created a “Jeopardy” style game board where participants answered questions about disaster preparedness. Adrienne, a volunteer translator for BEACON was on hand to translate what Bonnie said for those adults not yet fluent in English.

Gartlan, Jr., a revered founder of the Virginia Society for Human Life and later a distinguished member of the Senate of Virginia from 1972 to 2000, died July 18, 2008. Mr. Gartlan, a prominent and highly regarded trial attorney, wrote in early 1967 the epic position paper for the founding of the Virginia Society for Human Life.

A Richmond Times-Dispatch story published on July 9, 2008, announced “a well-financed” national campaign by Health Care for America Now begun yesterday in 50 cities across the country including Richmond. According to the story, the Virginia agent is Virginia Organizing Project.
This is seen as a shot-across-the-bow for fully federally funded abortion-on-demand under the auspices of Health Care for America Now. This is because of the proposal’s funding by America’s top abortion chain, Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Planned Parenthood kills thousands of unborn babies in their clinics every year.
