MANASSAS, VA, JUNE 11, 2008: People of all ages are invited to participate in Bethel’s Summer Education Program. Sunday mornings, June 22 through August 17 beginning at 9:30am, children will “Experience Faith” as members share their gifts and interests with children and how their faith is alive through things they enjoy doing. Youth and adults may also participate in “Experience Faith”, or they may learn about “Our Neighbor’s Faith” as we learn about the religions and denominations of those around us.
Summer is a good time to creatively engage children in what it means to live the Christian message. God calls us to use our interests and the things we enjoy doing to share God’s love with those around us. Congregation members will share how their faith is alive through volunteerism with fire and rescue, global mission interests in our relationships with Namibia and El Salvador, baking, athletics, music and more!
As Lutherans, it is imperative that we not only know what we believe, but what people of other faith traditions believe. “Our Neighbor’s Faith” will introduce basic concepts of eight faith traditions which were selected by members of Bethel.
Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church holds worship services at 8:00am and 11:00am with a Christian Education hour beginning at 9:30am.
