This could be the "Winter Snow of the Year". As of 11 am this morning, the average snow fall in Bristow, VA is over 18 inches and continues to accumulate and fall through later this evening and tomorrow. Local weather forecast calls for snow advisory through Sunday evening. This could be a long weekend for shoveling snow for local residents.

Residents are advised to take precaution measures when involved in outdoor activities such as shoveling the snow, playing, sledding, or exploring the local neighborhood. With winds gusting from 17 to 25 mph, residents are advised to take into consideration the signs of Hypothermia which may cause Cardiac Arrest and heart failure for people with heart problems.

Young children and teens should be dressed appropriately. If you have to be outside make sure you are aware of the time and consider the exposure factor to snow and icy conditions. Remember to use common sense.

Also when spending time  in-doors be considerate about power consumption. A lot of people are spending their time in-doors so turn off the light or television when not in used.

Again, this is a short public announcement from BristowEnews.com.
