The NOVA Manassas Symphony Orchestra Performs Works Inspired by Josef Haydn
The NOVA Manassas Symphony Orchestra is an all volunteer community service organization comprised of residents of the greater Manassas area and students at the Northern Virginia Community College's Manassas Campus. The orchestra exists for the purpose of performing symphonic literature to provide high quality, low cost, and family-friendly orchestral experiences for the community along while providing a performance outlet for area musicians. The symphony performs four subscription concerts each season. In addition, the symphony and affiliated groups make several other concert appearances.

Prince William Soil and Water Conservation District 2010 Arbor Day Poster Contest
The theme for this year's poster contest is "Trees are Terrific...and Energy Wise!" According to the National Arbor Day Foundation, the National sponsor of the Arbor Day Poster Contest, the theme is "designed to increase understanding of how trees provide a benefit that often goes unnoticed - trees produce and conserve energy. Students will learn how trees produce food energy for people and wildlife, how properly selected and planted trees conserve energy, and much more."

NOVA Manassas Symphony Orchestra Annual Family Concert
The highlight of the concert will be the World Premiere of The Red Lemon composed by Jerry Brubaker and based on the children's book written by Bob Staake. For each of the last four years, the NMSO has commissioned a children's book to be set to music. This year's composer, Jerry Brubaker, is a long-time arranger for the Navy Band in Washington, DC. Since his retirement from the Navy, Mr. Brubaker has become well-known for his patriotic compositions and arrangements of popular music, motion picture scores and Christmas favorites. He has published over 200 works for band, chorus, and symphony orchestra.

The NOVA Manassas Symphony Orchestra is holding auditions for qualified section string players for the 2009-10 season. The auditions will be held in Manassas. Hinkle Dance Lessons at Harris Pavilion on Saturdays and Sundays
Anyone or couples who want to learn and dance at a social dance come to the Harrison Pavilion! John Hinkle will teach East Coast Swing, Cha Cha, Charleston, Foxtrot, Slow Blues and Jive at the Harrison Pavilion. Saturday evening lessons are from 7:30 to 8:00 pm with dancing from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Sunday afternoon lessons are from 2:30 to 3:00 pm with dancing from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. There is also an ice cream social on Sunday at 4:30 pm.
